Approaches

Dr Isabel Fernandez and her team use a range of therapeutic approaches, depending on the client’s presenting concerns.

For a large number of people, the most evidenced based approach is Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is offered, which involves developing skills in managing one's mood, thoughts and coping strategies. Another helpful approach in many circumstances is the use of mindfulness-based therapies, which involve cultivating present-focused awareness and mental flexibility. Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) are also often used. The practice also offers EMDR [Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing].
