Catherine McNeilly

Catherine works with Adolescents and Adults and is available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.

I am a Clinical Psychologist who enjoys working together with adults and adolescents to empower them to achieve their desired goals. I have experience working with a range of presentations including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and trauma. In addition, I have experience with skills-based training including anger management, low self-esteem, social skills training and stress management. When working with my clients, I believe that providing a safe and supportive environment is the foundation to facilitating change. I achieve this by being non-judgemental, warm and open whilst ensuring the client feels heard and understood. My approach to treatment is to undertake a thorough initial assessment followed by the preparation of a treatment plan which considers the client's individual history, personality, values and goals. To facilitate a client to achieve their goals, I apply a range of evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness- based Therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,  Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. In addition, I ensure that I remain up-to-date with current research to offer the most beneficial treatments and outcomes for my clients. Overall, my aim is to provide the most effective individualised program and support for my clients' desired change. Thank you for reading my biography and I look forward to meeting you.
