Louise Popovich

I am a Clinical Psychologist Registrar who enjoys working with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I am available for consultations Monday to Thursday.

I have experience working with a range of personal and interpersonal issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, self-esteem, adjustment difficulties, interpersonal difficulties and family and couple relationship conflict. In addition, I have significant interest, and experience in, supporting adults and children with sleep issues and disorders.

I am particularly passionate about supporting children, and their families, in relation to a range of presentations, including anxiety, OCD, self-esteem issues and complex and challenging behaviours. Children often have difficulty co ping with problems that can overwhelm their emotions and interfere with their attachment and development. With this is mind, I offer a safe, nurturing and one- on -one therapeutic environment that allows them to express their feelings, explore relationships and de scribe experiences using a range of interesting and engaging mediums.

Overall, my aim is to offer a non -judgemental environment coupled with a client-centred approach, meaning I place the needs and goals of the client at the centre of the therapy. I strongly believe gentle exploration of personal difficulties, in a warm, supportive and caring environment, allows for personal growth, inspires positive change and increases wellbeing. To support the process, I use a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and Mindfulness.
