Gurnaj Mann
Registered Psychologist
I'm Gurnaj, a compassionate Registered Psychologist with many years of training and experience working with adults, adolescents and couples. I have provided support for: depression, anxiety, stress, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, family-of-origin issues, trauma, work-related challenges, grief and loss, life transitions and adjustment challenges, emotional dysregulation and more. I work with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed or not quite themselves. I listen deeply and create a space where you feel understood and less alone in what you're experiencing. Together we'll explore what's making things feel heavy and what might be keeping you stuck. We will collaboratively find new ways to navigate challenges and help you move toward a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with what matters to you the most.
I draw from evidence-based approaches, such as mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and the gottman method, tailored to what works best for you. My approach is client-centered, relational, trauma-informed, emotion-focused and holistic. At the heart of the therapeutic process is a commitment to creating and holding a safe, warm and nurturing space for you, one grounded in acceptance, empathy and non-judgement, where trust can grow and exploration can unfold at a pace that feels right for you. While I may guide you at times, the focus will be on helping you trust your own insights, deepen your self-awareness and move toward change in a way that feels self-directed.
People often describe me as calm, gentle, easy to talk to while offering space to reflect. If you're looking for someone who is real, down-to-earth and human, I'm here for you. I understand the natural apprehension about opening up to someone but I aim to make the process as comfortable and empowering as possible.
